Message I've had my fuel pump hardwired for over 2 years now w/o a
Fuel Pump Controller and no issues.

If I remember right, since I did this a while ago, you
disconnect the fuel pump harness, bridge the 2 connections for
power and 12v supply with spade connectors into the stock
connectors, and re-route the ground to a point somewhere on
the chassis.
This still maintains the use of the stock factory fuel pump
relay by the kick panel and the fuse by the batter tray.
